For Patients

Dr. Maw and her associates specialize in Otology-Neurotology. The definition of otology is "the branch of science which treats the ear and its diseases." This subspecialty usually requires an extensive and thorough evaluation of your hearing. In the majority of cases, a complete diagnostic hearing test is performed prior to seeing a physician at EARS Inc. This also applies to patients with dizziness and balance problems who do not even have hearing loss. Please bring your previous audiograms (hearing tests) with you, but please understand that in a specialty office, repeat testing is usually necessary to serve you with the best medical care and advice.

If you are being referred to this office for only a diagnostic test ordered by another doctor, and are not to see a physician at EARS Inc., please ensure this is clarified with the office staff when you schedule your appointment.

If you are already considering obtaining a hearing aid at the time of making your appointment, please let us know and we will gladly coordinate your hearing test, physician visit and hearing aid consultation all in the same day for your convenience.

If you are coming in for a hearing aid consultation, it is important to consider bringing a loved one along for this educational appointment. Many patients wish to have the opinion of a family member regarding their hearing aid selection and the voice of your loved one is used by our staff in fitting and programming your device.
